How to delete a child, a task or a reward
Deleting is done by swiping — which is easy to miss. Everything here is permanent, so it is worth reading the warnings before you tap.
Deleting is a swipe, not a button. There's no bin icon anywhere — you swipe the row left to reveal Delete. The app shows a one-time animation hinting at this the first time you see each list, so it's easy to miss.
Nothing can be undone. There's no trash, archive or restore in TaskAdoodles. Every delete below is permanent.
Removing a child
There's exactly one place to do this, and it isn't the obvious one:
- Go to the Home tab.
- Find the child under Your Children.
- Swipe their row left and tap Delete.
- Confirm Remove on the Remove Child prompt.
Most parents look in Settings → Family Members first. There's no delete option there — those rows just open the child's profile. The child's own profile page has no delete either. It's the Home tab swipe or nothing.
This permanently deletes their account. Their badges, mini-game scores, daily quest progress and activity feed history all go with it, and none of it can be recovered.
If you're only trying to stop a child using the app for a while, consider just not assigning them tasks instead. Removing them is not reversible — re-adding creates a brand new account starting from zero.
Deleting a task
Two places work:
- The Tasks tab — swipe the task row left and tap Delete.
- The task's own page — scroll to the bottom and tap Delete task.
One-off tasks
You'll be asked to confirm, and that's it — the task goes from every child's list.
Repeating tasks
For anything set to repeat you get a three-way choice, and the difference matters a lot:

| Delete all | Removes the task entirely so it never repeats again — and wipes every completed record of it, for every child. |
If you delete a repeating task outright, all the past approved completions vanish — but the points your kids already earned from it stay on their balance. Deleting a task is not a way to take points back. For that, use Been naughty on the child's profile (see rewards and points).
If you want to stop a task repeating but keep the record of what your kids have done, there isn't a clean way to do it — you may prefer to edit the task to a different schedule rather than delete it.
Just this one also clears a task your child has submitted and is waiting on. They won't get the points and won't be told why. Check your Pending Approval list first.
Deleting a reward
- Go to the Rewards tab.
- Swipe the reward row left and tap Delete.
- Confirm on the Delete Reward prompt.
If a child has requested that reward and you haven't approved or rejected it yet — or you've approved one that's scheduled for a future date — deal with that first. Deleting the reward out from under a pending request can leave the request showing with a blank name.
Hiding instead of deleting
Tapping the pencil on a reward opens Edit Reward, which has a Visible to kids toggle. Turning it off takes the reward off your kids' list without destroying it — useful for something seasonal.
A hidden reward also disappears from your list, and there's currently no way to bring it back from within the app. So treat hiding as roughly as final as deleting until that changes.
Deleting everything
To close down completely, go to Settings → Delete Account. In the app's own words, this permanently deletes your account, your family, and every kid in it. All tasks, points, photos, history and rewards will be wiped.

Every delete described here is parent-only, and the app enforces that on the server as well as hiding the buttons. A child signed in on their own account can't remove a task, a reward or themselves.
