How your child logs in
Kids never need an email address. They get a username based on your family name, and a 4-digit PIN they choose themselves.
Joining for the first time
- Install the app on your child's device and open it.
- On the sign-in screen, tap Child.
- Tap Join Your Family.
- Scan the QR code from your invite, or type the 8-character code by hand.
- The app shows their username — it looks like name@your-family.
- They pick a 4-digit PIN and tap Complete Signup.
The app says this too, and it's worth listening to. The username is the one thing kids forget — the PIN they usually remember. A photo of the success screen is enough.
Logging in day to day
After the first time it's just: open the app → Child → username → 4-digit PIN → Sign In. The app stays signed in, so most kids only do this once.
Forgotten PIN
You can reset it from your own account. Open the child's profile from Family Members and tap Reset PIN.
Kids can also change their own PIN from Settings → Change PIN, which asks for the current PIN first.
Reset PIN only appears for children who have their own login. Managed children don't have a PIN at all, because they never sign in.
Sharing one device between two kids
There's no fast profile switcher yet. To swap users on a shared tablet, sign out from Profile → Sign Out, then sign in as the other child.
If you're regularly sharing one device between siblings, adding them as managed children and marking quests done from your own account is usually less friction. See how to add a child.
